Since 1995 the Series has presented free children’s concerts to schools and home school groups throughout the region, performed by some of the artists from the evening concerts.

Schools are urged to include a majority of students who have not had previous opportunities to be exposed to classical music.

Invitations are issued to schools and home school groups in the following areas: City of Charlottesville, the counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Nelson, Culpeper and Orange. Many schools in the outlining areas tell us that they have never been offered such invitations before.

By the end of the 2011/12 season the Series will have presented 40 children's concerts.  Approximately 46,000 students will have attended the concerts.
